English Program: Student Communications

Both English teachers and students in China enjoy the idea of a "pen-pal." Our experience is the students and teachers want to carry on a communications with the foreigners. The e-mail communications provides a wonderful English writing experience for the student. For the Chinese English teacher who is teaching a second language, he/she often enjoys sharing with another teacher to learn about our teaching techniques, teaching methods, teaching schedule and related teaching experiences. Both student and teacher want to learn more about China and Americans want to learn about China.

With the up-coming Olympics in Beijing China in August of 2008, we sense more and more will want to share experiences through pen-pal communications. With the technology of the internet and e-mail, thousands of miles are minimized to seconds and chat session are breaking down barriers and mystery about each country.

Please provide your name, mailing address, email address, status: student or profession. While donors have experienced such communications ever since the launch of the scholarship program, this idea of pen-pal was mentioned by Chinese school officials and local officials here in Belchertown.
